I feel so Welcome to a new, very bad Wizzards bonus series, not a TV show.

We're going to film for this, and we're going to film noir, a genre that I know you love.

So much. I'm so excited for this.

Yeah.

And, you know, like, you, as you often note, like, you were not a huge film buff, but even I feel like when you weren't a huge film buff, you liked film noir.

Always. Like, it's great, because I would just, like, not knowing anything about any of the context or anything, I would just, like, Google, what's a good film noir?

And then I would just watch it cold. And I have a story about this film in particular and when I did that. Oh, cool.

All right. Well, we'll get to that. So we're going to do a bunch of film noires. This is,

the first one is Kiss Me Deadly, Robert Aldrich movie from 1955, an adaptation of a Mickey

Spillane novel of the same name. As we'll talk about, the movie

has some, you know, stark departures, both tonally and cosmically and plot-wise, too,

but also other elements where it's completely the same. So it's really interesting adaptation

that way. Let's talk about

what noir is. I don't think we've ever talked about. Like what defines a film noir for you?

Well, like most things, I'm completely convinced that there are just a set of necessary and

conditions that will outline right here and figure it all out. So, okay, I tried my best not to

look up what the way that people define noir and just go off of my own vibes, but I did read

a little bit. For me, it's like this. Like, there's a visual style and aesthetic that's definitely
