In 1996, Jeffrey James was sworn in as a United States Secret Service Special Agent, beginning his 22-year-long career within the federal government. During his time in the Secret Service, he was promoted to Assistant Special Agent in Charge and also served as the Liason to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Now, he works as the President of Capitol Security Consultants, as well as the Chief of Police at Robert Morris University. 1:07.4	federal law enforcement gets involved in the investigation.
1:17.5	Previously on this show, I spoke with Julie Murray, whose sister Mara has been missing for 19 years.
1:22.9	Julie's family has long requested assistance from federal agencies for Mara's case.
1:28.3	However, due to complications with the state police, those resources weren't immediately given.
1:32.3	So how are the feds brought on to work on cases of missing people? And what special tools do they bring to the table to help investigate these crimes?
