Hi everyone, welcome to this bonus episode of the History of English Podcast.

In this episode, I want to take you back to the Sound Education Conference that was recently

held at the Harvard Divinity School in Boston.

As I've noted recently, I had the opportunity to take part in that conference back in early

November, and it was a very busy weekend.

I appeared on a couple of other podcasts, the Inless Not Podcast and the Lexitector Podcast.

I also spoke on a panel with other language podcasters, and I gave a short talk about the

History of English, and this bonus episode is basically the talk that I gave on the last

day of the conference.

All of the participants were invited to make a short presentation on a topic of their

choosing if they wanted to do so, and of course most chose a topic related to the overall

subject of their podcast, and since all of the presentations were being recorded, the

talk could also serve as a mini podcast episode.

So that was the way I approached it.

I prepared some remarks that were really intended as a bonus episode, and my plan was to post

the audio when I returned.

However, there were so many speakers and so many panels and presentations that it's

going to take the organizers several weeks to have all of the audio ready to post.

It should be available sometime early next year, but since my remarks were really structured

as a distinct episode, I decided to just go back and record my remarks and release it

as this bonus episode.
