Yeah, again a very intense few weeks of like constant rioting.

It was quite intense.

And it was mostly centered around this like occupied spaces.

and a lot of like basically we, when I say we we I saw that from a distance but people

controlled like the whole areas of Excyd here right so the police I mean already

excited is the kind of place where the police don't hang out they're not welcome there and but so what

you had like what was the interesting thing about December 2008 was you had like

the the simultaneous participation of loads of different social

categories. It wasn't just the activist and the seasoned kind of

of arkist. It was a lot of young people like 15 year olds who were at the

same age as Alexis who was shot. They saw themselves in that assassination and they just

went out all over Greece and just immediately attacked police stations in their

neighborhoods so you had like small villages in, the names that we didn't even know, right?

There was all the small places that you heard about and suddenly they were like, you know,

the police station was attacked by 14 and 15 year olds and the cops were completely at the loss right they couldn't do

any so they focused their energies on quelching and kind of like you know stopping the

the kind of riots in Exarchia but they could not do that because it was just like

thousands and thousands of people who were completely upset and not willing to give up
