Welcome back to Mama Mystery. I am your host, Kelly. Are you guys sick of me yet? This has got to be what the fourth or fifth episode I've posted this week. There's just so much going on. So we had the weekly docket with true crime headlines from this week. And I've also been covering the Karen Reed retrial that started this week. And so I recapped day one and two in their own episodes. Today I'm going to recap three and four because they're going to be really short days.

Today was only a half day and tomorrow I believe is a half day as well.

And grain and tomorrow hasn't happened yet, but I'm going to include it in today's recap because I know what's going to happen.

So I'll just tell you.

And without further ado, let's dive in.

So day two, wrapped up with Nicholas Corino testifying about his job and exactly what that entails within the Massachusetts Police Department DA's office.

Now, he is responsible for collecting the data from the cell phones,

and his testimony was really pretty tedious because they're introducing evidence through him.

So it's a lot of reviewing and confirming documents and explaining the process of obtaining those reports on the cell phone data.

We also left day two wondering if that

footage of the Dateline interview with Karen Reed would be published to the jury. And this is the one

where she imitated John's mom and I did a really poor rendition of that. So this time I'm going to

leave you with the actual audio here so you can just hear it for yourself. And his mother leans over

the kitchen aisle and says to me, I think it looks like you got hit by a car.

It looks like I hit by a car.

Now, the attorneys went back and forth on whether or not it should be allowed to be shown in its entirety to the jury.

The defense claimed that it would prejudice the jury because it makes Karen look cold and menacing,

and it's not a good look. So they just

wanted to use the transcript and not the actual video. I believe Alan Jackson actually said that

the state wanted to use it in an effort to vilify her. Judge Beverly Canoni said that she would

think about it and render a decision by this morning. And this morning she did tell the state that

they could go ahead and show the jury the clip. So this will undoubtedly be a blow to the defense, in my opinion, because it makes
