And I'm getting ready to fly out and speak at Urbana.

My parents are getting ready to fly back to Australia,

but I thought I'd just sit down and grab some wisdom that my dad has learned on prayer.

So, Dad, my life has been deeply marked by your prayers and by mum's prayers.

Where did prayer enter your story?

Why did it become something that you chose to value?

Well, my dad was a missionary and mum and dad, and they were very much people of prayer.

And of course, his prayer life was patterned on somebody else that we know who used to spend

all night in prayer.

And even though he walked this earth as the son of God's,

still needed a continual communication with his father.

So we have a very godly example in him.

And I guess just seeing answered prayer, particularly with my parents who were living,

they used to call it by faith, just God's continuous supply of everything that they needed,
