This special episode is brought to you in partnership with Cult Beauty and was recorded live during

0:08.5

Menopause Awareness Month. Welcome all of you to this very special evening and thanks

0:15.0

to Cult Beauty and all the team for hosting this recording. It's a live recording of a special

0:21.3

episode of postcards from mid-life and obviously it's particularly special because this is

0:25.7

World Menopause Awareness Month. I'm Trish Halpin, I'm the co-host of postcards from mid-life,

0:31.6

alongside Lorraine Kandoo, who I'm sure you all know, at the end there. Like Lorraine, I'm a former

0:37.2

Closty magazine editor, I edited Mary Claire, Red, In-Style and Lorraine of course Sunday Time

0:43.1

Style, Elle Cosmo before that. So we launched the podcast when we were both going through very

0:50.3

difficult Harry Menopause experiences ourselves. We did not know what on earth was going on with

0:56.6

us, we just didn't feel right and we got talking about it and we thought well listen, we kind of

1:02.5

then got on to the fact that it probably was Menopause and we thought we're journalists, we've

1:06.8

written about women's lives, women's health for the last 20 odd years and we don't know anything

1:12.3

about it, this is insane. So we started the podcast in 18 months on, we know a lot about it because

1:17.9

we've interviewed, I would say practically every expert on Harry Menopause, on women's health in

1:24.3

the UK and of course lots of incredibly wonderful, high profile women who have been remarkable in

1:30.5

opening up about their personal stories and actually making themselves quite vulnerable I

1:34.6

would say on the show as well at certain points about their Menopause experiences. But it's so

1:40.6

great to have you all here today because this is the Menopause Revolution and we're all Menopause

1:47.4

warriors, we're all Menopause warriors here today and joining us on the panel to discuss how we

1:54.5

can support each other, we're going to be talking about how we support each other at work,

1:58.2

Carolian is going to be talking about government, how we make changes in parliament, how we get society

2:03.6

talking differently about Menopause and making concrete positive changes and creating communities
