we never do this. I don't know where I got into me. Well I do know what got into me. I was looking

at this thing that we're working on in Matthew chapter 14 with all of this stuff about Jesus

answering the question they got asked last time there was a crazy storm and he solved that storm

back in Matthew chapter 8 and the disciples were like what who who is this guy commands the

winds and the waves it's insane who is he and then in chapter 14 you get the exact same scenario

except this time Jesus goes walking out on the water and he answers their question from the last

dangerous boat trip this time saying yeah you want to who it is I am he uses the the Greek phrase

ego Amy or I am would be the best translation in English we render it as it is I but the meaning is

there at least I believe the meaning is there and I thought as often the case when we get into the

really important deep water stuff it's better to get somebody smarter than me to come in here who

knows what they're talking about and so I went and grabbed my friend Aaron Aaron you there hello

is my very simple question for you in yesterday's episode I was talking about how Matthew is structured

around five big speeches sermon on the mount well you know this stuff sermon on the mount the

missional discourse of chapter 10 the kingdom parables discourse and then you get two more that we

haven't got to yet John on the other hand is often said to be structured around the seven I am

statements really overt smoking gun declarations that he is God in the flesh or as Matthew seems to be

a little more subtle about it so I reference that kind of in passing yesterday and I thought today
