Recently, the state newspaper posted video from a vigil held at the South Carolina State

House just on the road from my law school.

We're here today pretty much because on Easter Sunday, Sasha was found slouched over her

staring wheel while her car was running with bullets in her chest.

And Sasha became a victim of yet another trans homicide.

So I'm here today to say that Sasha's life matter, and I'm also here to say that all

Black trans lives matter every single one.

This is the voice of Sasha.

You know, this is us talking.

This is us uprising, you know, for people to respect who we are.

It took us a long time for most of us to come out of the culture of who we is, and

I'd be able to go back to the closet because I'm scared of a gun.

Because I'm comfortable in my skin.
