How do you? Howdy and welcome to a bonus episode of Wise About Texas, the Texas

History Podcast. I'm your host Ken Wise and one year ago today I launched this podcast with four

episodes and an introduction episode and it has been a tremendous year I wasn't sure when I started this podcast whether anyone

would care in the podcast community whether Texas history was on the air or not and

pretty soon we're going to hit 50,000 downloads of this

podcast. I think that's incredible. My goal was to preserve and promote Texas

history and I think I'm getting there. This project started out as a fun

side project. It remains a fun side project but I've learned a lot over the last

year hopefully the podcast has evolved. I'm constantly trying to improve the audio and I hope that's gotten better. I have

been asked to help other podcasters get started which I've been happy to do.

I'm going to get interviewed on the hosting service that I use for this podcast as a company called Blueberry.

They do their own podcast about podcasting and I'm going to be the interview guest on that

later this week.

So I think that I've come a long way as a podcaster and I hope that the

show is of the quality that sounds good in your speakers into your ears.

But more importantly over the past year I think I've really met the goal of preserving and promoting Texas history

This podcast has led to a number of speaking

Speaking engagements. I've got a lot more scheduled through the end of the year and many all the way into next spring.

I enjoy very much getting out and talking about Texas history and talking about the podcast.

And I wanted to share with you that the podcast is not just

getting listened to in the United States. This podcast has been downloaded in

36 different countries around the world, including China, the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Lictonstein, one of my favorites.
