Summary
This bonus episode gives an overview of Paul's letter to the Galatian churches. The Galatians are being led astray by false prophets who are teaching justification through the law and works - which is the opposite of the Gospel! Paul reminds them (and us) that there is absolutely nothing we can do on our own strength that will make us righteous before God.

| 0:00.0 | Hey fam, if we're honest, reading the Bible consistently can be a challenge. |
| 0:06.0 | But it's never too late to start, and we're in this together. |
| 0:09.0 | Thanks for journeying with us, and here's your host, Emma Daughter. |
| 0:12.0 | Thanks for joining. Did you know that the Book of Galatians wasn't written to just one church? |
| 0:18.0 | It was actually written to a group of churches in Galatia. Unlike the Corinthians, |
| 0:22.4 | these people lived in rural territory. And they too were being visited by false teachers who were |
| 0:28.3 | claiming salvation by works. These false teachers also questioned Paul's apostleship and claimed |
| 0:34.1 | that all Christians must be circumcised according to Jewish custom. |
| 0:42.1 | And if you want some more thoughts on circumcision, I'd encourage you to check out episode 30. |

| 1:00.0 | He gives a simple greeting and starts reminding them of who Jesus is and what he's done. |
| 1:06.2 | Paul is surprised that Galatians are being led astray so quickly by false prophets. And he then addresses some controversy as he states that the gospel he preached isn't his own words. Rather, |
| 1:11.2 | it was what was revealed to him. And teachers in the area claimed Paul didn't place an emphasis |
| 1:16.7 | on the keeping of the law because he wasn't a true apostle. Nevertheless, Paul shares his |
| 1:22.8 | story of conversion with the Galatians. He was a true apostle, and he knew the good news. And as Paul |
| 1:29.1 | continues to share his testimony in Chapter 2, he's specific in sharing about his encounters back |
| 1:34.3 | in Jerusalem. He had sought to make sure he was rightly proclaiming truth. He was intentional. And it was |
| 1:40.8 | then that he spent time with other believing leaders of the day and was actually sent off to minister specifically to the Gentiles. |
| 1:48.9 | So when Paul saw Jewish Christians acting hypocritically, not upholding the law, he called them out. |
