Summary
Today, we're bringing you a sneak peek of a new podcast series for patrons!
Double Booked is a monthly series where a co-host (Catherine of Gilmore Guide to Books and Susie from Novel Visits will alternate months) and I will each share our own book recommendations in the same format as the big show (2 old books we love, 2 new books we love, 1 book we didn't love, and 1 upcoming release we're excited about).
Moving forward, these episodes will be available to "Superstars" patrons for $7 / month (join here).
This post contains affiliate links, through which I make a small commission when you make a purchase (at no cost to you!).
Announcements
- Along with this Double Booked bonus episode series, "Superstars" patrons will get:
- My 2022 Rock Your Reading Tracker (normally $14.99)
- Summer Reading Guide Supplement (additional summer reading recommendations from patrons and hopefully previous podcast guests).

Highlights
- Our ongoing search for the right word to replace "love" when talking about books that deal with really tough topics.

- If there should be a word count limit on book titles.

| 0:00.0 | Welcome to Sarah's Bookshelves Live. I'm Sarah of the blog Sarah's Bookshelves. Each week I'm |
| 0:15.5 | talking with one bookish guest about two old books they love, two new books they love, one book they don't love, and one new |
| 0:22.7 | release they're excited about. We're going to get real, and sometimes a bit snarky, about all |
| 0:27.9 | things books. If you like the show, I'd really love your support. Spread the word to your |
| 0:32.9 | reader friends, subscribe to the show, rate and review it wherever you listen to podcasts. Let's get rolling. |
| 0:39.8 | Hey everyone, welcome to a special sneak peek episode of a new podcast series for patrons |
| 0:46.8 | called Double Booked. One of the benefits that patrons have been getting is a bonus podcast |
| 0:54.0 | series called Sarah's book recommendations. |
| 0:57.1 | Not the most creative name in the world, which was why we had to come up with something different. |
| 1:02.0 | But every month, I shared my own book recommendations in the same format that we use on the big show. |
| 1:07.9 | So I shared two old books I loved, two new books I loved, |
| 1:11.0 | one book I did not love, and one upcoming release I was excited about. I did this all in a |
| 1:16.4 | solo episode, so by myself, no co-host, no guest. This was a place where I talked about books. |
| 1:23.1 | I didn't really talk about anywhere else. I didn't post about most of them on Instagram. I didn't |
| 1:28.9 | talk about most of them on the big show. So this was definitely like a look into the parts of my |
| 1:35.4 | reading that don't make it out into the public. Also, I would sometimes give patrons an early |
| 1:40.5 | view of my thoughts about books that I was going to talk about on the big show, |
| 1:44.5 | but I was not planning to talk about for like three months down the line. |
