Welcome to Breaking Down Patriarchy. I'm Amy McPhee, All the Best. Here we are at the end of season two of Breaking Down Patriarchy.

One year ago at the end of season one, my husband, Eric, and I recapped the season by sharing highlights and lessons that we learn from each episode.

And today, our beloved Sam Rose Preminger and I are going to do the same thing

for season two. Hi, Sam. Hey, Amy. It's so great to have you here today. It's been quite a journey this

year. I'm very excited to be here and get to discuss this whole season with you. Me too. I'm really

excited. And I want to start by making sure that listeners know that this season couldn't have happened without Sam. And I might get choked up as I talk about it. As many people know, my family moved from the Bay Area in California to the mountains of Utah in late 2020. And I was still in grad school in California at the time. So from September until May

of this past year, I was flying back and forth from Utah to California, and the time that I was

home was spent in the most stressful writing cave of my life as I was researching and writing

a 150-page master's thesis so that I could graduate.

And that's why season two changed formats a little bit, and we solicited contributions

from listeners and from people who wanted to participate on the podcast.

And this enabled us to share many, many people's experiences, which we were so honored to do.

And it had the added benefit of

reducing my workload tremendously because I was no longer reading an entire book and writing an

outline every single week. But there was still an enormous amount of work to do for season two,

gathering contributions, coaching people through the process of editing and writing,

scheduling recordings, organizing which pieces could be placed together in composite episodes,

and then writing the introductions and the conclusions for every single piece.

And that was all work that was done behind the scenes by Sam.

So I want to say a huge thank you to you, Sam, first and foremost,

for helping to keep the podcast alive this year. And it really was just such an honor and

pleasure to work with you also. You are so welcome. And thank you for giving me the opportunity
