So tell us about your path to becoming a family physician.

So it's interesting.

When I went to medical school, I actually thought family docs were just the docs that existed.

I didn't have any idea how many different kind of specialists there were until I

got to med school. Turned out there was this whole group of doctors called family doctors that did

exactly what I wanted to do, which was take care of the whole family. And so pretty early on,

I mean, day one, day two, I kind of had already decided that's what I was going to do. I went to the

University of Maryland, and so I got really lucky. They had a really strong Aheg program where you could partner up with a family doc early on

and do sort of longitudinal meetings with them, or like you got to go spend time in clinic,

even though you were first year and you didn't know at all what you were doing.

What has been most meaningful to you in your career so far?

The most meaningful thing is probably a combination of two things that are kind of related, but a little bit different.
