In a special episode of the poor over today, we're diving into American views on the Warren Gaza, including where Vice President Harris, RFK Jr, and former President Trump's stand.

This is the second episode of our election collection

designed to help us grow in understanding and compassion on K-2020-24 election topics. First, some background.

On October 7th, 2023, Hamas militants broke through Israel's border, killed 1,200 people, and took 250 hostages back to

Gaza. A small trip of land roughly 25 miles long and 5 miles wide between Israel and the Mediterranean Sea.

Israel immediately declared war and announced its objectives,

destroy Hamas, and bring home the hostages.

People around the world and across political persuasions

condemned Hamas's October 7th terror attack. Support for Israel's military response

has been more divided and has shifted over time. The Gaza Health Ministry reports that over 40,000

Palestinians have been killed since the war began. It does not distinguish between civilians

and combatants. Critics doubt the accuracy of numbers reported by the Gaza Health Ministry because it's

controlled by Hamas and accused it of inflating both the total death toll and the percentage

of casualties that are women and children.

Israel says it has killed over 17,000 Hamas operatives.

It does not report civilian casualties.
