Hey everyone, David Chen here from Decoding TV. There's a new show on Apple TV Plus right now called The Studio. It's very funny.

So I chatted with my regular co-host Patrick Kleppick about the studio. We reviewed the show and talked about how we thought it served as a satire of the current state of Hollywood.

The studio shares a lot in common with Robert Altman's 1992 film, The Player.

Both the studio and the Player are about what it's like to make movies in Hollywood.

And they also have a character with the same name, Griffin Mill.

So I wanted to check out the player, watch the player, and talk about how it related to the studio and to the current state

of Hollywood. So I was really pleased to be able to chat with film critic Matt Goldberg from

the newsletter commentary track about the player. We talked about that movie, just overall thoughts as well as how it relates

with the studio, and whether it's still relevant today. So you're about to hear my chat with
