On Wednesday, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence held its first in a series

of public hearings, pursuant to its impeachment inquiry into President Trump's efforts to

pressure Ukraine to interfere in the 2020 election.

Today the committee heard testimony from George Kent, deputy assistant secretary in the

European and Eurasian Affairs Bureau at the State Department, and William Taylor, the

top US diplomat in Ukraine.

While the witness has had a compelling story to tell, there was some disagreement among

members about both fact and process.
