Well, speaking of weathering the next several years, if not decades, people are, I think,

increasingly, if not turning to the concept of needing a village, they are becoming

more aware of it while struggling to implement.

So this article from Slate is titled, I'm starting to think you guys don't really want a

village and basically argue, well, just the opening line. I'm starting to think you guys don't really want a village.

And basically argue, well, just the opening lines here is,

I'm going to say something that might sound a bit mean, but bear with me.

I don't think modern parents really want the village because most parents don't behave in a villagey way.

And it sort of goes on to talk about how people reveal their preferences with their actions,

even if their words say, yeah, I'd love to have community.

I'd love to have that village, have the help and help out others in exchange.

But people are busy or going out of town, focusing on the nuclear family or whatever the case may be.

So this article sort of highlights that, you know, a variety of things.

One might be like our, particularly for parents, right, with, with kids, says our standards for

caregivers are higher than ever. We don't really want a village. We want a free caretaker or

cleaning crew who does things exactly the way we wish, which, I mean, why don't we pause there?

Because we were just talking about economics, our capitalist system, part of this conversation, like, you don't have to get into capitalism has alienated
