Well, there's one caveat to weather control and this is where we come to the

intersection of climate change and capitalism and that's cloud seating.

So cloud seating is actually like arguably an ancient technology, you know, think of rain dances and lighting lots and lots of campfires and then it

rains it's not magic it's science because you know this from the article basically

the idea is that you

dump a lot of dust or aerosols into the atmosphere and they act as surfaces for the

formation of clouds and rain it can have some impact on increasing the

amount of rain or snow you get from a particular

storm. What's important to note is like it doesn't create storms out of nothing.

It can just very, very gently, moderately, maybe impact the amount of precipitation that comes from a piece of

sky that already has some moisture in it. So that's a big caveat, but the article from Wired,

the new gods of weather can make rain on demand or so they want you to believe, dove way deep into this because it turns out the

United Arab Emirates have been all in on this, so desert country. They, I think the

article said they get as much rain as Nevada, which is to say not all that much.

Half as much rain as Nevada. Oh, I skimmed that too quickly. So half as much as Nevada, it's a desert country, if they could seed

some clouds, get a little bit more rain, that would be nice for them. So the UAE started its

cloud seeding program in the early 2000s and since 2015 it has invested

millions of dollars in the Rain Enhancement Program which is funding global research into new technologies and you
