Welcome everyone to today's episode of the award-winning Best of Left podcast. Amanda's

0:11.8

here with me. We're doing a special post-election episode, not our normal stuff with clips and

0:19.3

all of that. This is a rapid response. This is more like the bonus shows that we do usually

0:25.4

just for members, but this is going out to everyone. The primary reason for this is not because we have

0:35.4

really important rapid response that people need to hear. I think we have some interesting things to

0:41.7

say, but also it's totally outside of our capacity to make a real show right now. Yeah, that's true.

0:48.4

After these couple of weeks that we've had, and so just to give a sense, I mean, like many of you, I

0:59.1

think, we've been watching cable news for three and a half days, not our normal style. Yeah, I mean, you

1:06.9

know, mixed in with some other stuff, but yeah, it's been a lot of cable news because they're the ones

short one, just like a few days in a coma when you wake up and realize that time has passed and you

1:35.6

don't know how or where it went. And you certainly didn't absorb anything new or interesting in the

1:41.1

meantime. Yeah, this is like Vegas, like walking into a casino and they just suddenly you've been

1:45.5

there for days and you don't remember most of them. Yeah, it's kind of like that. And I feel like,

1:50.7

look, if I were a conspiratorially minded person, I would suggest that, you know, the media had

2:01.5

something to do with designing this election the way it has come out because it could not be

2:07.0

better for them from a business model perspective. True. It's not election day, it's election week.

2:12.5

Yeah. Think of the ratings comparatively. Yeah, everyone's tuning in every five seconds to see

2:18.3

what's the latest. What's the latest? They're constantly promising that, you know, the next big reveal

2:23.0

will be just after the next break. And it never is. It's the world's worst soap opera.

2:30.5

Where nothing actually happens. And there is news happening. And I mean, there's like so much
