Hey there. This is Chris Cuylla, writer, director, and producer of Dirt and audio drama.

0:12.0

Welcome to this bonus director's commentary episode. I'll use this time to go into things like

0:17.7

where and how specific sound effects were created, what inspired certain scenes or character interactions,

0:24.6

the recording process, both for background sounds and actors' voices,

0:28.6

and in some cases, how things change during production from my original script,

1:43.3

coast in southwest Washington.

1:46.4

Hi. Hey, can I call you back in a bit?

1:50.1

Uh, sure. In real life, PL really does factor into my family history. My grandparents

1:56.8

live there briefly as a young married couple, and my dad, their oldest child,

2:02.1

was born there.

2:03.7

They didn't stay in PL for very long, unlike Carl, who's a lifer.

2:08.2

But I thought the tie-in would be fun to use for the story, even though the story is, of course,
