Welcome to episode three of conversations about the Lady Vanishes Podcast.

Firstly, we have an update in relation to Sally's application to have a mother put back on the missing

person's database. Sally wrote to the AFP and asked whether she'll be able to get them to put it back on the list.

She was told that they would have to apply to the New South Wales police,

which she already knew, and they came back and said, no again. and so as a result we are without any progress in that

area unfortunately Sally what was your reaction to that?

Oh look I wasn't surprised to be honest I was a little bit I guess I was a little bit surprised because when Trish was interviewed on the And she said if Sally asked us to put Marion back on the list that she would consider that.

So hence why I emailed them and asked them the question whether we could put her back on and gave I believe good reason

and rhyme for why she should be put back on the list and unfortunately Trish

came back to me and saying that her hands are tied still because it really needs to be

directive of the New South Wales Police Force and we know the current status of their

thought process on putting her back on the list. You've been liaising with

New South Wales Police Force. What's your reaction to it Brian? Yeah well as you know

right from the start Detective Gary Sheen has made it clear that the position of the New South Wales police

is that they believe that Marion chose to disappear which is her legal right and that whilst it's painful for Sally that her privacy has to be respected.

Now of course we've thrown up a number of questions and a number of findings that cast

serious doubt on that assumption.

It's especially frustrating when we don't have the case file which could show us a lot of what those assumptions are based upon
