hey francisie larson here well i've been thinking a lot about the stress that people are

under and hearing from people and feeling even the stress myself i mean it's almost too much to take

in these days isn't it well i find myself going back again and again to Psalm 4610.

Cease striving and know that He is God.

Another translation is, be still and know that He is God.

Well, if you read the whole passage, the whole chapter of Psalm 46, it really is God's voice thundering over

the storms of the nations, over the battles. And we often think of that verse just in the quietness

of a time by the riverside, which I love to think of it that way. But truly, when you read the

whole chapter, God is establishing that the nations are shaking.

And in the middle of all that, his voice thunders over all the trouble and the trials on the earth today.

He says, you, my child, be still and know that I am God.

I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted over all the earth.

He is the unrivaled one. He is God most high. He's the king of all kings. He's the God of angel

armies. So what does it mean to be still, to cease striving? It means a number of things, and I love it. It means to let go,

sink down, relax. And in some cases, to be quiet. And then to know God means to encounter God.

So hear that again. I want you to think of the thing that's stressing you. Let go. You're not

just throwing it into space. You're casting your cares on God. Let go of your white knuckle grip on the
