This one is Second Kings, chapter 4, verse 37.

And in this scenario, there was a wealthy woman of God who noted that the spirit of God

was on Elijah, that he was a man of God. And so she told her husband,

you know, the hand of God is on this man, and I want to make a place for him in our home. Let's make

a spot for him to sleep. Let's feed him when he comes to town. Let's take good care of him because he

indeed is a man of God. So let me read this for you. This wealthy woman of God recognized that

Elisha was a man of God, that she and her husband built a small room for him to use whenever he was in

town. She'd been so kind and generous to him that Elisha asked what he could do for her. Well, she let

him know that her needs were met. Now, this is so typical for us when we have something buried deep within us. Let me just

move on and I'll explain what I mean. It wasn't until Elisha spoke to her about having a child

that she fell apart. That desire had been long buried and it was almost too painful to talk about it

now. So she replied, oh man, of God, don't even deceive me and get my hopes up like that.

So this is so powerful because on one hand, she had a certain fear of God and she recognized

the work of God in other places. And maybe that study many years ago by Henry Black

would be experiencing God. The essence and the message of that study was look around for

where God is working and join him in the work.
