Our guest tonight is Drift Glass, and it is the pseudonym for a Chicago-based writer

who has been blogging virtually every day about politics, culture, and media since 2005.

He is the most recent weblog award winner for best individual blogger, and his writing appears online in all kinds of places, including The Atlantic, Vanity Fair, and Crooks and Liars.

He's also one-half of the professional left, a weekly podcast on all things liberal, religious, literary, and weird that he does with his wife, The Amazing Blue Girl.

And they recently finished up their 100th episode. It's available at,

uh, not even www, just professional left.blogspot.com. And in the non-blogging world,

drift class has been a software developer, a professor, a writer, and IT manager, a public

policy wonk, a performance management expert, a grant writer and executive,

and several other things.

And he also believes that to save the American middle class, we have to save advanced

American manufacturing and to repair our broken political system.

Our broken political system, we have to eliminate corporate control of our media and shrink

the modern conservative movement

until it being drowned in a bathtub drift glass.
