But here we are. We're going to take a few of these extra questions that came in.

This dear listener called in anonymously,

wanted to be off the air, says,

I was given amoxicillin to help treat my gut pain,

but since taking it, I've had some mild depression.

Wondering how long Dr. Troy thinks it normally takes

for amoxicillin to improve gut pain.

So this is a good question and speaks to a little bit of what we were talking about before,

and that is that our GI tract, especially serotonin, has a lot of brain chemicals in it.

And so when it comes to antibiotics, they kill off some of the bacteria that helps our GI

tract work better.

So the only time we have to be careful with antibiotics and gut health.

So if there's gut pain that was prescribed antibiotics,

they're suspecting some type of infection

...
