hello to my siblings via Zoom instead of sitting next to them at the

table. And admittedly, without the travel and without seeing family, it doesn't really feel like we're heading into the holiday season, at least for me.

First we'll hear Marie Wilson as My Friend Irma in an episode that originally aired on

CBS on November 15, 1948.

Irma's roommate Jane is planning a Thanksgiving dinner for the girls and their boyfriends.

Irma wants to help, but her contribution is bringing a live turkey back to the apartment.

Joan Banks plays Jane in this episode. She filled in for regular star Kathy Lewis in late 1948 and early 1949 while Lewis

recuperated from an illness. The rest of the cast includes John Brown as Al, Irma's boyfriend, Jane Morgan as the girls

landlord Mrs O'Reilly, and Hans Conread as Professor Kropotkin, their colorful upstairs neighbor.

Then J Carroll Nash stars in a Thanksgiving story from Life with Luigi.
