I've been fascinated to watch this conversation because I really think the people that are freaking out about this and are so critical of what the president said on this are really missing

the bigger geopolitical argument on Greenland. And no matter who wins we win no matter who loses we win

if denmark and nato step up and increase defense of greenland that's still a winning proposition

even if it doesn't fly an american flag one of these days that's my take on the whole thing but

we're lucky enough to get roger friedman on the phone with us morning. He's a columnist. He's the author of Erasing America,

broken politics, broken country, and he's got some thoughts on the Greenland Gambit. Roger,

good morning. You know, there was something I wanted to make sure and tell you. I wanted to

let you know, don't be so quick to sew another star on the American

flag for a new Greenland state. I think you're going to have to wait on that. I think we will, too.

I haven't even heard him suggest making it a 51st state. He was joking with Canada about that.

What's your take on this

whole thing? Well, you know, I started writing about this in October because I saw an article

that said Denmark to spend $8.5 billion on weapons for Greenland. So, you know, it entreat

me and I started looking at Wittle Moore. And they were spending, you know, it entreat me, and I started looking the widow more. And they were

spending, you know, four and a half billion for 16 new F-35 fighter jets from Lockheed, you know,

four billion for maritime patrol aircraft, Arctic ships, and so on and so forth. And by the time they were done,

the Danish government was ponying up $10 billion for the defense of Greenland. And all that
