Summary

This week we have what I believe is our first call ever from Alabama as we welcome Katrina to the show. Katrina and her husband have a lot of money in traditional retirement accounts and are now wondering if it makes sense to start using the Roth 401(k) function through their jobs? Have a finance question? We want to hear from you! Email us at askjill@betteroffpodcast.com and we'll arrange to get you on. Don't forget, a brand new episode of the Better Off podcast comes out Thursday so stay tuned for more listener questions plus an informative interview. Better Off is sponsored by Betterment. any questions and answer any questions that you might have. And I know it can be a sort of

0:29.4

curious time because we are in limbo on understanding what tax situation is going to be. So this

0:35.6

could be something where you might have a question

0:37.7

about something you might do or not do. Whatever it is, what we want you to know is that we're here

0:43.4

for you. Just send us an email. Ask Jill at betteroffpodcast.com. And you've got two shots to get on the

0:50.0

air. We do this bonus call of the week. We drop it on Tuesdays. We also add a call at the end of our Thursday

0:55.1

show, unless I blab on too long. Either way, we would love to help you out. Again, that email address is

Ask Jill at Betteroffpodcast.com. Today, we have our first caller from Alabama. It is Ms. Katrina.

1:10.1

Hello, Katrina. Welcome to Better Off. What can we do for you?

1:13.4

Thank you so much for talking with me today. Sure. Yeah, so I heard your podcast. I listened to

1:19.9

podcasts, you know, probably after their air. So I heard the one about the gentleman that called in

1:26.3

asking about the Roth 401K,

1:28.7

and he was younger than my husband and myself,

1:31.5

so I wanted to kind of reintroduce that question according to our circumstances

1:37.1

and see if that's really what we should be doing.

1:39.4

Okay.

1:39.9

Because we've been contributing to both both of our 401 case for years.

1:44.6

My husband is 65 and I am 58, and so he wants to work until he's about 70,

1:52.0

and I don't know.

1:53.5

I'm going to try to hang in until I'm at least 62 or so, maybe 65 if I can.

1:58.3

I just work part-time.
