And what we're doing in that time is we're trying to manage it.

I used to think if I can only figure out how to manage my drinking.

Like what's the secret formula? So I can drink, have all the fun, but not pay the cost and have the

consequences. And I spent years of misery trying to figure that out. And I wonder if you've done the same thing

too. And then we get to a point where we finally realize that we just can't continue drinking

the way that we have and we've got to stop. And stopping proves to be a little bit harder

than we anticipated. And there's some reasons for that. And I want to explain what happens.

When we try and stop drinking, what happens is we are moving to a new place. We are moving from

the land of drinking into the land of sobriety. And I want to tell you, the land of sobriety is pretty

awesome. Come on in. However, whenever we do something new or different or we change, we're always going to experience resistance.

This is how resistance shows up. We all have a voice in our head. It's the voice of the ego. We're all narrating our own lives. So the primary purpose of the
