Could you tell us a little bit about what drew you to this story?

Well, it began really with the idea to write something for Benicio del Toro to play. I mean, it's Benicio.

I had this idea of a kind of Euro tycoon of Aristotle Onassis kind of type, something like that.

And in the course of time, we did quite a bit of research about different men of that kind.

And the characters, it's a mixture of many historical figures,

historical capitalists, especially of the 50s, of that part of the 20th century.
