0:09.9	you to the brand new evidence-based birth, My Dula Visit Workbook. The My Dula Visit Workbook is an
0:16.8	innovative way for Dula's to structure your prenatal visits and guide families through seven
0:22.0	of the most important topics related to pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. This workbook was
0:27.4	inspired by doulas and created four doulas. So at the beginning of this year, I met with four
0:33.0	different groups of doulas and asked them to give me their honest opinion on what is going on in the world of
0:39.0	birth. They talked openly with me about high induction and intervention rates and unprecedented
0:44.2	pressure to induce electively, as well as high intervention rates in hospitals. These doulas also talked
0:50.7	with me about how providers don't always see or hear their client's concerns,
0:55.5	contributing to a lack of informed consent and a loss of bodily autonomy. Their clients were
1:00.7	struggling to tell apart facts from fiction when facing Dr. TikTok or Dr. Chat GBT. We also spoke a lot
1:08.2	about Dula prenatal visits and how they feel it's difficult to prepare their clients for what they may be facing in this current healthcare system.
1:15.6	Newer Doolas in particular were struggling with time management during prenatal visits because conversations can get off on many tangents.
1:22.6	And everyone agreed that a new tool from EBB to help structure prenatal visits would be extremely
1:28.0	helpful.
1:29.0	So then I set off on a journey for the next nine months to create this new resource.
