I'm with a very special guest today, Father Josh Johnson from Louisiana, who is just one of the most delightful and articulate people I've ever talked with, and I wanted you to have a chance to get to know him and hear his story and learn about his mission in Louisiana.

But even more importantly what he has to say to us about listening to

Jesus in prayer.

So Father Josh, thank you for being with us today.

Dr. Mike, it is such a gift to be with you. Thank you for having me.

So I would love it if you could just share with us a little bit of your story, how you come to be a priest and what your real passion is as a priest.

Thanks for asking you. I never desire to be a priest growing up.

My dad's Methodist, my mom's Catholic, and I grew up in the Catholic

but I didn't understand Mass, didn't get the homilies,

thought the community wasn't very welcoming,

prayer was boring, and so I tried to find fulfillment

outside of Jesus Christ for a number of years and of course that doesn't work and so I had it ache in my heart all throughout middle school and high school and I played sports to try to say she that ache and dated to try to say she

that ache and parted and nothing worked and and finally one of my friends she

went to a Steubenville South conference in 2003 and she had a profound encounter with Jesus Christ in the Blessed of sacrament.

After her encounter with Christ, she came home and she began to invite me every single week to Youth Group and to

invite me every single week to Youth Group and to a mission or to a retreat or to a
