As we begin, find a quiet place where you won't be interrupted and take a deep breath

as we enter into God's presence together.

Today's reading comes from Ephesians chapter 1 verses 18 to 21.

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which

he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably

great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength that he exerted

when he raised Christ from the dead

and seated him at the right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority,

power and dominion, and every name that is invoked not only in the present age, but also in the one

to come.

As you reflect on today's reading, what does this passage teach us about God? Paul here talks about the incomparably great power of God for us who believe,

praying that the eyes of the Ephesians' hearts would be enlightened to understand that power

and the hope that it provides. How is prayer connected to

God's power in our lives?
