The other is Tom Cock, who's standing over there, right there, right there, waiting, waiting to tell you something interesting

about today's subject, which is bondage. Yes, today on talking real money, we're going to go way out

on the limb. We're going to go way off topic. No, actually, it's right on topic because the bondage we're talking about is the things

you buy.

When you go out and you invest in fixed income securities issued by corporations,

municipalities, or governments, you are putting them in bondage.

They are bonded to you. Technically, they're in bondage. That's what it means. They're not tied up. Well, they are. They're tied to you. They

have to pay you. And bonds are an essential part of a well-balanced portfolio, whether you like them or not.

And, you know, in the past, Tom, it's seemed relatively simple to build a bond portfolio.

Is it more complicated than we thought?

Well, apparently it is.

I mean, in fact, it's so complicated that the folks at wealth front, the

robo advisory firm, you don't hear much about them anymore.

It was like 10 years ago they were all the rage and they didn't grow to be all the rage
