And we understood that a statement in our previous episode really needed some explanation.

See, in my last show, I stated that when talking about how the Scribble poisoning happened, that this new act seemed similar to the bombings

and terror acts, which helped Putin's rise to power in 1999. And Oliver's request about more

on that subject caused others in our social media sites to show a lot of interest in this, so here we are.

See, in the summer of 1999, the Yelzhen presidency and his era of rule was kind of closing in and coming down to an end.

And those guys in Yelzhen's close proximity and everyone from that clique of

people were really, really afraid for their freedom and their lives. There were kind of the first

signs of the economy of Russia sort of recovering, but basically everyone was still living in poverty at that point,

and there are a lot of businesses just hadn't been paying salaries for like months there.
