I know those guys.

Good morning from San Diego, everybody.

It is opening day.

We're going to do something a tiny bit different here just for the start of this podcast

because the Giants, we're not going to release their roster until Thursday morning.

That's obviously pretty close to the opener.

Cole and I had to tape a full podcast on Wednesday.

So full podcast coming, the usual.

We remembered some guys, obviously. We made some bold predictions for this season. We talked about some of what happened over the last week,

but just wanted to start here by going over the roster and some of what the Giants did and why

they did it, most importantly. Of note, 12 pitchers to start 13, 14 position players, actually were still getting used to 26 guys on this team.

And that meant Joey Bart is the third catcher.

Pretty clear the Giants are trying to sneak him through waivers if they wait, you know, a few days here, maybe a day, three days, full road trip until everybody else

has set their roster. It's teams, you know, front offices hate to give guys up into the season.

So I think they're taking a risk here and hoping that they can carry Joey for a few days.

And, you know, that allows Tom Murphy maybe to hit off the bench at times.

But mostly it does seem like they're trying to get him through waivers at some point

and keep him in the organization and keep him as their third catcher in AAA.

We will see if that works.

I can say I've heard from a couple teams that are keeping a close eye on him.
