Well, hello there. I am Dave Holmes. Welcome to Troubled Waters.

The show that treats popular culture is the most important kind of culture because often it is the one that bums us out the least.

Now, in the before times, Troubled Waters would pit two teams of comedians against one another

in a pop culture battle royale. Still kind of not quite doing that. Being with people who are not in your

quarantine pod, still frowned upon. More frowned upon, in fact, than trying to do a revival of

funny girl on Broadway without Barbara Streisand. So for now, it is one comic against another to win this

battle. Each contestant will be called upon to use their smarts, their rhetorical skills,

the comebacks that they have been saving in the back of their minds, or a moleskin notebook for the last two years,

to earn the coveted Troubled Waters title, Pundit Emeritus, which will give their opinion on, let's say, the third season of HBO's Barry, more weight than a civilians.
