They're calling him the alleged murderer with a heart.

Austin Drummond is charged with the mass murder of four members of the same family,

while at the same time saving the life of a baby from that family.

After the murders, Drummond went on the run and after an extensive manhunt, he was taken into custody.

And now, for the first time, he is speaking out,

and tonight you will hear what he has to say.

Meanwhile, for years, investigators in Atlanta, Georgia,

were trying to solve the case of the Flint River killer,

a serial killer responsible for five murders in the mid-70s.

In the early 2000s, with the use of advanced DNA technology, they were able to arrest Carl Patton from nearby Locust Grove.

Patton committed the crimes with some help from his wife, Norma, who took an immunity deal to testify against the man she loved. At the same time, police were

also able to identify another murder victim whose remains were found in 1999. A young woman named Melissa.

Melissa was the daughter of Carl and Norma. The serial killer and his wife denied any involvement and the case remained unsolved for more than two decades. Then finally charges, but not against her parents. It was Melissa's husband Christopher Woffenbarger who was taken into custody and charged.

And tonight, we take a look at this family's extensive criminal history.
