One of the things that I have always wrestled with a little bit and now I'm in the place where I feel like I want to actually support activists and people who are who are paying attention to the news moment to moment,

0:13.0

it's like you have to have some feeling

0:15.7

for something greater than us as humanity

0:18.8

in order to endure the terrible things that we do to each other as human beings.

0:25.0

And to not lose faith and heart that whatever it is that we're struggling for, fighting

0:31.0

for, that it's actually worth it, and that it's actually worth it and that it's tending somewhere or that we can

0:36.7

root down to some essential quality of human beings that is decent, that's kind,

0:42.4

that's curious.

0:44.0

And so for me, astrology is like, I mean, the basic gesture, I feel like, is to look up.

0:51.6

And it's a gesture of the heart of like why or where are we or what now and

0:56.2

astrology is a way to symbolize that gesture of looking up you look up and then you

1:01.6

return back to the horizontal world of your life.

1:04.5

And so in a way I feel like that's the whole retreat is we want to look up,

1:08.8

we want to feel our feet on the ground,

1:11.4

we want to root down, and then we want to return back to the horizontal.

1:15.2

And I feel like in a way that's what I'm trying to do as an activist.

1:18.0

If I am an activist, I'm trying to bring that the spiritual dimension of like we are in a larger cosmic ecosystem and that

1:25.7

cosmic ecosystem has its own qualitative rhythms that we're cooperating with in a lot of

1:30.9

what we see in the human world and in human affairs is an

1:35.0

expression of these qualitative influences that are happening. So I try to

1:39.9

stay oriented towards the long picture. I try to stay oriented towards long historical currents and long historical directions and like how do we root what we're doing right now in those longer arcs. Hello to you about What's up Renee? Hey. It's good to see you. Yeah. How you doing? Where are you? You're in Portland? I'm in Portland. It is a couple days I guess almost a week after the equinox now and so it's getting close to that time of day when the sun is setting and it's been pretty warm so far. I love the light at this time of year. It's so golden in the afternoons and then the dusk gets real pink, which I've noticed

2:48.0

about the Venus seasons, Leibra and tourist season, just lots of pink in the dusky times.
