This is hell with Texas. capitalism is the virus's new anti-abortion law that turns every resident into an

anti-abortion vigilante suddenly every Texan's pregnancy is every Texan's business.

This new law, SB 8, as it is designated in Texas, causes inequality and enforces patriarchy, giving even more power to men over women.

The belief is that Roe v. Wade's decision would always protect women's rights.

In fact, the logic behind Roe is one of protecting reproductive rights through the legal

precedents surrounding privacy, and once privacy is applied, it opens the door to regulating pregnancies.

Then there's the problem with the logic of choice as our guest today writes

choice is a consumerist concept and a bourgeois privilege.

The neoliberal myth that your fate is your choice and your troubles are your fault

obscures history, economics, and social reality.

Now there was a time when reproduction was not

doctor, the medical profession, and until the late latter half of the 19th century,

the primary caregivers during pregnancy were not doctors,

but midwives, doula's and female healers.

That is, until reproduction was captured by capitalism in the market.

Being part of the market, capitalism does to pregnancy what it does to everything else.
