Emergency workers often deal with death, and when investigating cases, have to keep a clear and open mind.

But sometimes, something happens that just can't be explained rationally,

as in this account inspired by a true story and written by Janine Pipe.

I'm a police officer in Massachusetts.

We often get dispatched to weird and wonderful callouts, but nine times out of

ten, they're just regular shouts with some, let's say, colorful characters. But once in a while,

something happens that inexplicable. No matter how you look at it, there is no way to justify

what you saw. And I don't mean some of the awful

crime scenes or the heartbreaking homicides I've attended. No. I mean, well, it's just easier if I tell

you the story. I had a rookie named Steph with me the night in question, and it was a good thing I wasn't alone.
