Hey, everybody, another episode of In the Weeds.

I'm going to start with something that went kind of viral this last week.

I didn't expect it to.

And some folks were angry.

Some folks weren't, but you always hear the anger, the loudest.

And on the last episode, I was talking about whenever I do an interview with someone,

and they come in, and there is a gift take in the interview.

Meaning, I've only got so much inventory here, so much time on a show, and they want to promote something. And so when they come in, I'll let them promote what they're here to promote. That's why they came in. And they are going to give me some good content. That's why I'm having them on. And then that's kind of the dance. And I talked about that. And I said, I'm going to let you promote your thing

if I'm going to let you come in on the show. And I had four or five artists. They got pretty

pissed off about that going, well, we don't need to come in on your show you're right you absolutely

don't need to come in on my show you don't nobody needs me nobody needs any one thing anymore

is what's crazy 10 years ago i would go yep you definitely need this show. You don't need any single entity to promote

something. Heck, you could almost need nothing if you catch the algorithm a few times.

And that wasn't my point with that. My point was, if you're going to come in and want to talk

about your project, don't just

only talk about your project over and over again because my audience doesn't want to hear

that.

And I've got to serve the people that are listening to me through podcasts, through Netflix,

through the radio show, whatever I'm in.

So that happened.
