Hey, David, good to be with you. Early morning. It's always fun to be on a Zoom early in the morning.

Well, it's amazing. You don't have one hair out of place because you are always ready for prime time,

which you are. And I want to get into it. There was news this weekend

that broke right on the day, just two days ago, as the All-Star rosters were being announced.

And I really wanted to get your view because you know my past and our past. There are

firings and there are hirings and there's timing of that. Did you find what the Nationals did with Mike Rizzo and with Davy Martinez?

Did you find the timing, strange suspect, or did you agree with the decision?

Wow.

Well, before the draft, there's always a little weird that personnel is being shifted around.

There must have been something that was urgent.

Something said, done, felt that they needed to change immediately.

So, you know, they know more than we know, David, that's for sure.

But two good baseball men are out there being free agents right now and the

nationals will be on their own for a while. How long would you expect winning a World Series?

What kind of runway does that as a former manager, and you've been around baseball,

basically your whole life, every side of the field, done every job. What kind of runway does winning a World Series generally get you in your mind?

Well, I think it's a counterfeit runway, actually.

You know, if you like the guy, you believe in the guy, you think the guy understands what you're

doing, understands your team, understands your business.

I don't know if winning or losing a World Series necessarily gives them a runway.

I think it's a day-by-day situation.
