The Milwaukee Brewers have just announced that legendary broadcaster and former big league player,

Bob Yucer, has passed away at the age of 90.

So normally we lead the hour with sort of whatever the big story of the moment is.

And it might sound kind of weird that a baseball broadcaster passing away and he was a very old man, he was 90

years old, would be the lead story. But I think when you factor in Bob Euker's societal impact

over generations, it certainly is worthy of leading an hour of the news talk station of record in a city

of the size of Indianapolis.

Because Bob Yucer, I mean, you think about what a fabulously interesting life he lived.

I mean, obviously he started his life as a subpar baseball player, but he was so smart and witty that he turned that in, that essentially

making fun of himself, poking fun at his inability to be productive in the major leagues into a

career that spanned generations. I mean, he was on Johnny Carson more than 100 times. He obviously

was a key part of the Major League Baseball movies that were resounding successes. He did those

Miller-Light commercials that were to this day down to the front row. I mean, still, obviously,

he was Mr. Belvedere, the TV show. He hosted Saturday Night Live.

He helped host WrestleMania.

I mean, the guy's career spanned legitimately, basically 70 years from being a Major League

Baseball player to his career in media.

And he was beloved by everyone.

He was because he just, he had that bigger, larger than life personality and he was

witty as well.

And like you mentioned, he turned that from being an okay baseball player into just

something much greater than that.
