This is StoryQuest. Today's story is Bob the Marshmallow Dog.

In the sleepy town of Butterbean, nothing exciting ever happened. The biggest news last year was that the post office got a new dormant. People still talked about it.

But that all changed the day Bob arrived. Bob wasn't your average dog. For one thing, he was made

entirely of marshmallow, soft, squishy and faintly strawberry strawberry-scented. His fur, fluffy sugar, his nose, a perfect

little gumdrop. His bark, like someone blowing bubbles through a kazoo. No one knew where Bob came from.

One morning he simply floated into town on a breeze, landed

gently on Mrs Figgle's lawn and wagged his squishy tail. Oh, aren't you adorable? Mrs Figgle

cooed. I shall call you Bob. And bob wagged harder because he was adorable and because he liked his new name.

At first, everyone loved Bob. Children hugged him because he was so soft.

Shopkeepers gave him free biscuits, which he ate politely, even though technically he had no stomach.

Tourists came from miles around,

just a boop his marshmallow nose. Bob loved life in Butterbean. He chased butterflies, he played fetch,

he even joined the local dog show, although he was disqualified when he accidentally melted into a puddle in the hot sun and had to be scooped back together with a spatula. But one fateful Tuesday afternoon,

everything changed. It started with a rumour. Did you hear? whispered Mrs Pickle-Tuffed at the bakery.

A billionaire is coming to Butterbean.

Not just a billionaire, said Mr Crumbly from the post office.

Basil Burlington, the world's most famous sweet tycoon.

Basil Burlington was the CEO of Chocco Corp, a company that made chocolate bars the size of

mattresses and lollipops big enough to be mistaken for wind turbines.

And Basil had a terrible plan.

I've heard, said Mrs Pickletuff lowering her voice, that he wants to capture Bob and turn him into

the centrepiece of his new dessert range. The town gasped. Bob tilted his marshmallow head.
