How difficult is it to be a sports writer and, you know, do the job that you want to do?

The difficult part is separating the emotion and the fan part of you from the

alleged professional journalist in you. And a lot of times writers say they are not fans and you can't be a

fan and be a good writer and I dispute that. I don't think you can be a good writer without being a fan

because if you don't have the emotion and the depth of feeling about the game and the people you're

covering, I don't think you can adequately write the emotion and the depth of feeling about the game and the people you're covering,
