On this week's episode, we're going to set the hot box time machine for 1964 so we can sit in on one of the most consequential sessions in music history featuring some of the most celebrated artists of the last century. That's right. Roll one up and get ready for the story of the time Bob Dylan got the Beatles high for the very

first time. My guests for this episode are Bob Dylan and the two surviving Beatles, Paul McCartney and Ringo Star.

Okay, not quite. Dylan called me from outside the podcast studio to ask if we validated parking,

and when I said no, he just drove away. What I didn't realize at the time was he actually had

Paul and Ringo with him in the car. Now, if I knew they were all

carpooling to the interview together, I would have gladly covered their parking, but I wasn't about

to pay for three separate cars. Uh, seriously, though, what you're about to hear is the very

first episode of great moments in weed history ever recorded.

That was more than seven years ago, and I thought it would be a good time to pull this one

out of the archives because of all the attention on Bob Dylan right now, thanks to the new

movie, a complete unknown.

The high-storic first meeting between Dylan and the Beatles, yep,

high historic is not depicted in that film, but it does take place during the time period

covered in a complete unknown. After turning on the Beatles to weed, Dylan would plug in and go

electric just six months later. For their part,

the freshly stoned Beatles would soon start work on Rubber Soul, the album that marked the

beginning of their transition from teeny boppers to psychedelic visionaries. But first, before we get
