Top House and Senate lawmakers are at odds over a classified briefing on the U.S. military's controversial, so-called follow-up strike on an alleged drug boat.

It targeted the boat in the Caribbean back in September, killing survivors of the first strike.

Any American who sees the video that I saw will see the United States military attacking shipwrecked sailors.

That's top-ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee Democratic Representative Jim Himes after the briefing.

Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Republican Tom Cotton felt differently.

First strike, the second strike, and the third and the fourth strike on September 2nd

were entirely lawful and needful, and they were exactly what we'd expect our military commanders to do.

Navy SEAL officer Admiral Frank Bradley ordered the second strike.

Congressman Himes says the Admiral told lawmakers that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth

did an order to, quote, kill them all.

A source previously said Hegseth ordered the military to ensure everyone on board was killed,

but it wasn't clear if he knew there were survivors before the second strike.
