This is the busted open podcast. We need to talk about everything that happened on Smackdown tonight and also look ahead

to what we're going to look forward to for SummerSlam.

But first, let's talk about John Sina.

So how polarizing has John Sina been on this channel?

So polarizing because when we found out that John

Sina was going to turn heel, a lot of people said, oh, you know, why is this happening

now or wow, this is refreshing. I'll tell you where I was on it. When John Sina turned on

Cody Rhodes, I said, that's good for John Sina. He's finally something that he wants to do. Because under Vince McMahon, he was not able to be that guy, to go deep into the character, to be anything different than what we had seen for years and years. There was a glimpse. There was an opportunity once upon a time for Cena to turn heel. But Vince said, no, no, you got to stay a baby face.

Look at the merchandise.

Look at the ratings.

Look at you as a champion.

People believe in you.

And so Sina decides, okay, the company wants me to be a heel.

I'm going to be a heel.

And, of course, if you watched Unreal, the Netflix documentary, you know all the

massinations of what happened there with John Cena turning heel. But then the music hits

on SmackDown. He comes down like he always does with the scowl on his face. He comes down

with the same introduction from Mark Nash, and all of a sudden here

comes Cody Rhodes out, and you think it's going to be a one-on-one promo battle, confrontation

between the two. And Sina just turned. He turned back to the Sina that we've seen for years
